Story of bronze
Amazon is a totem. Each stage of the sculpture evokes plant and animal life… It has two big legs, one symbolising the forest, the other crocodiles and other reptiles…. The upper body is an Amazon Indian – it is humanity with its rites and traditions.
The statue is an emblem of the quiet force of a clan.
“First of all, I placed a small bust on two large legs, then I worked on the posture. It is the look of the figure that guided me towards an Amazon Indian, and the work of the legs leaning towards nature. I sculpted levels of symbols. The Amazon flowed through my spirit.”
